just to add to whoever answered the question and asked it. there is many ways to get a mew. firstly get and action replay the only £14.99 or $19.99( i think it's about.) nd i have about 100 mews shiny and not but it'll be a bit hard to trade without wi-fi coz we probalbly live no where nere each other lol.

It's actually impossible for Torchic to be a male partner, as I've always checked and it's a female. It seems that Torchic is preset by the game to be female. However, you could always switch it around: Make the main hero a male Torchic and have a female Eevee as your partner.
