You won't get it. you can only get the Gracidea flower in Pokemon Platinum. If you got the shaymin from diamond and put it in platinum it wouldn't work, you have to get a event shaymin from mystery gift or go to toys'rus at certain times. You can also get it in HG/SS in the flower shop in goldenrod city. that also involves the event shaymin.

100% just use you making map to keep track of articunos movement then when your close use a max repel and it wont move but make sure your near grass.right after you use your max repel (make sure its still lingering by trying to use another max repel)ride in the grass you'll know its articuno when a Pokemon appears by the music.
