Its possible the wires leading up to the door swtiches have been crimped and are shorting against each other. Are you sure the door switches are OK. On my 92, I accidently pushed the door switch in so that it did not come out far enough to close when the door closed. I had to pull the switch out of the hole and yank the swtich assy forward of the locking nut.

I would start by checking the switches on the doors, one or more may be non functional and that is why the lights are staying on, secondly there are switches inside the seatbelt receptors that can tell whether your seatbelts are connected, it would appear that one is not recognizing that you have connected it.
Find and remove the chime.

One of the door ajar switches is showing an open door. The switches are part of the latches inside the door.

Locate the door chime...Locate the 1 bolt that holds the door chime. Pull down the chime.Use a flat screwdriver to release the clip that holds the casing and the plug-in.Remove the plug-in .Now the door chime will not bother you anymore :)
