You may have gotten the valve timing wrong. If a valve is open when the piston is at TDC it may hit it, doing considerable damage.
I am having the same problem with my 93 jeep cherokee. it can hardly get out of its own way! i just recently rebuilt my motor and transmission. i replaced the cps ( crankshaft position sensor) and it made a noticeable difference, but still hasn't fixed the problem completely! I need help!
The regulator is in the engine computer not the alternator.
Yes, replace it.
The cable must be replaced if damaged.
Check the oxygen sensor. My 1995 Grand Cherokee stopped stalling while driving after it was replaced.
If it is deep in the engine, the engine may need repaired/replaced.

The problem is that the rear heat/ac vent that mixes the two to control the climate is broken, I had it replaced at the dealership since it kept knocking when I tried to operate the rear climate controls. It is common to have a knocking or clunking noise of a 99 Nissan Altima, even after the struts have been replaced. This may be due to worn ball joints. It is best to replace the ball joints, too.

The fuel pump on a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo is replaced by first lowering and removing the fuel tank. The fuel pump can then be lifted from the fuel tank and replaced.
Could be the timing is a little fast.
