The ranger 101.3 was made by Stevens arms for sears, around WW2. Mine was inherited from my grandfather, who bought it as a young man. Good luck finding parts, however, I found some info online that this is similar to the Stevens model 237.
I have a westernfield pump 22 #119393K with octogonal barrel. Dad said he got it new for his 18th birthday. He was born in 1915. Makes it new in about 1933. I can't find a model # anywhere on it to cross reference, but looking at pictures, it looks similar to a Remington model # 12. The Rem. model 12 did not have model numbers, but the ejection port in my pictures don't look quite right. I've not removed the wood on this rifle, but can anyone tell us if there is a model # and where to look.
The serial number is actually 5478!

The L579 was a model number that was used by Sako.it describes the action type. The info that you provided will not indicate what caliber that you have.Your Sako rifle should be marked as to what caliber your rifle is chambered for, somewhere on the firearm itself.
