Skinwalkers sleep where other people sleep. They are ordinary people with the supernatural ability to take on a shadow-like form, similar to, but not exactly like other therianthropes or shapeshifters. Most, if not all skinwalkers are only mortal people who have been lent power by outside forces.
Because for one they're blind and can' see the diference and two because skinwalkers have to kill a family member to get that power and also transform into other animals.
There are far too many legends to list. There are stories and legends virtually everywhere humans and wolves coexist. There are Native Amarican Skinwalkers, French Loup Garou, Japanese Kitsune (though, they transform into foxes instead), and many, many more.
