I think what you are referring to is in 1787, Beethoven travelled to Vienna to study with Vienna. After listening to him, Mozart said: "Watch out for that boy. One day he will give the world something to talk about."

It was Mozart, after hearing what Beethoven played he went in the room where his wife, Constanze Mozart was listening. He said "Watch out for that boy, one day he will give the world something to talk about". Mozart agreed to take Beethoven as a pupil. 6 weeks later, Beethoven got a letter from his dad saying his mother was ill, he had no choice but to leave Vienna. After Beethoven got back, Mozart was dead.
