well,

peritoneal structures like the bowel {i.e. located within the peritoneal cavity} are covered by serosa, a mesothelium type of cells.

other organs {i.e. retroperitoneal, behind the peritoneum} like the oesophagus are covered with loose connective tissue called adventitia.
