We found one source on the www that says the effective range of the Aegis radar is more than

300 Km, which is about 328,000 yards.

So we're thinking it wouldn't have too much trouble picking out a canoe at 0.09% of that range.

In fact, maybe you wouldn't want to be bathed in the direct glow of an Aegis only 300 yards

away from you as you went paddling by.
