For a short while, but than the fan will break because it has too much energy put into it, unless you had a converter in between. The fan will run at almost twice the speed it was designed for. Current is directly proportional to the voltage so the motor will run very hot. The extra heat will eventually break down the motor winding insulation, the windings will short out and that will be the end of the motor.

Would a 36 volt battery charge on a 24 volt battery charger?

I am no expert but until someone answers for sure Im going to help you out and say that yes a 24volt charger will charge a battery slightly. You will in no way get up to 36 volts or the right amounts of amps (volts are like how fast water can come out of a pipe, and amps are like how much water is actually coming out, wide pipe=lots of water; small pipe=less water. but moving both at same speed.) So yes Im pretty sure your 36v batt will capture some electricity and bring it back to mid-low volts (5-15) but you should really find a 36v charger for you 36v battery. if you find this charger keep in mind that the lower the amp rating of the charger (say 1amp -3amp) will take longer to charge the battery but its better for the battery. Higher amps are for fast charges in an emergency and will lower battery performance and life over time.

What is the voltage of a dry and wet cell battery?

I am the one who question~ The more data: I mean, there is AAA type dry cell with 1.5V and AA type dry cell with 1.5V as well and square cell with 9V.So what's the realtionship between all these? Is there a realtionship I mean?I suppose there's...Thank you for answering my question:) Answer: For non rechargeable batteries, there is 1.5 volt per cell. So AA, AAA, D, C, etc. batteries have one 1.5 volt cell. The size of the cell is different in each, which allows larger current flow from that particular battery. None volt batteries are typically 6 of these cells stacked in series within a single battery. For cheap 9 volt batteries, there may be only 5, as the actual voltage is usually higher than 1.5 volts per cell (each cell voltage is intentionally made larger). wikipedia has a pretty good explanation - search for "nine-volt battery". Another way to glean more understanding is to simply take a few apart - make sure you wear some protective gloves and eyewear (some of these chemicals can be very corrosive). Hope this helps.

Can you run a 120 volt 5 amp window ac unit off a 12 volt deep cell battery with a 12 volt dc to 120 volt ac power inverter installed on the deep cell battery?

You "could" run a 120V 5A window AC unit off a 12V deep cell battery but, assuming 100% efficiency (something you can never get), you would need an inverter or motor-generator set and 50A out of the battery to run, and maybe 5 or 10 times that to start.

Can you charge a 5 volt battery with a car charger?

No, an automobile battery charger outputs 12 Volts. This is far too many volts to charge a 5 Volt battery. You would destroy the 5 Volt battery with this charger.

How long will it take for a 5 volt charger to charge a 7.4 volt battery?

It takes about 6 hours to charge a 7.4 volt battery when using a 5 volt charge. For the best results try charging it over night.

Can a 5 volt 1.4 amp charger be used to charge a 5 volt 1 amp battery?

Yes. A battery draws what it needs from the charger, the charger does not force current into the battery. The voltage spec. is the same. Things would be different if you were to try to charge a five volt battery with a ten volt charger. You would probably blow the battery. Hope this helps.

How do you hook up a USB fan to a battery?

easy first to note this fan is 5 volts d.c if the battery is 12 volts use a low drop out voltage regulator at 5 volts out put you can get them from any electronics stores for around $3 or use 3 1.5 volt battery's in series that makes 4.5 volts like this (+ - + - + -)

Can a 5 volt 2 amp charger be used to charge a 5 volt 1.6 amp battery?

Yes, it can be used to charge that battery. The chargers rating, 2 amps, is the maximum that can be drawn from it.

If you park your Prius for two weeks will the battery die?

Maybe! Revised and complete answer... The 270 volt traction battery won't die. The 12 volt battery won't 'die' in two weeks in normal storage with the headlight switch turned off. The headlight auto on option and the computers do take some power. In 3-4 weeks, the 12 volt battery CAN lose all power because the computers are always on (standby). Vacation times of over 4 weeks requires a trickle charge on the 12 volt battery to avoid full discharge. Somebody could also drive it 10-15 miles every three weeks to maintain charge. If the 12 volt battery DOES die because of storage, the 270 volt battery can recharge the 12 volt battery to a start the car condition with the key turned to (check engine) 'run' position for 4-5 minutes. The inverter will charge the battery enough to start the car. Remember you must "start three times to reset the system" if the 12 volt battery ever becomes discharged like this. -__-
