Maybe. The insured must complete the application and answer all underwriting questions in the presence of the insurance agent who is writing the policy. All information must be supplied to the insurance company and they will decide whether or not they will offer coverage to the insured. I would certainly say that the insured is in a more than risky situation being incarceration. My suggestion is to talk with a couple of independent insurance agents and let then run the scenario by the underwriter before he wastes his time taking the application and such. Also remember that the insured must be the one to sign the application and if the policy is of certain sizes a paramedical or medical exam will have to be done. I don't know how the arrangements can be made for this as well.

Can you get insurance on a brother who is terminally ill?

Traditional life insurance is not available for people with terminal illness. In some cases, a Graded Death Benefit life insurance policy may be available. With this type of policy, if the insured dies during the first few years, the insurance company will only pay back the premiums paid plus interest. With each passing year, an additional percentage of the death benefit becomes available.

What will happen to a 17-year-old ticketed for going 30 mph in a 20 mph school zone no seat belt or license and insurance?

First, your parents should take the car. Even though you weren't going very fast, you were doing 10 miles above the speed limit, which will result in a hefty fine and added points to your license (the school zone exists to keep kids safe). I assume you mean you had no proof of insurance, in which case you can show proof to the court and they may reduce the ticket for the insurance. If you had no insurance coverage, that's a different story and requires a court date. All in all, you'll have an expensive ticket and points on your license which will eventually go away if you have no further infraction. Wear your seat belt - it will probably save your life one day. And drive the speed limit - you could save someone else's life one day.

Is Lil Boosie going to die?

No, Lil Boosie is not going to die. At least, not likely soon. Yes, he does have diabetes, and yes he is incarcerated; that alone is not a good combination or conducive to long life. but, of bigger issue, he is potentially facing the death penalty on federal charges of murder. If convicted, and if he is able to effectively treat his illness, he could potentially live for at least twenty-five years after his conviction on the murder charge.

How long should a differential last on my vauxhall vivaro van?

As long as there are no leaks and it never gets low of lubricant modern differentials should last the life of the vehicle. For even more insurance against failure have the lubricant changed at 100,000 miles and install synthetic lube.

What happens if the beneficiary of a life insurance policy is not the spouse- does the spouse need to sign a spousal consent?

Are you referring to a group policy offered through work or an individually owned life insurance policy? For individual life insurance policies, the owner of the policy has complete control and can name anyone they like as the beneficiary, and the owner does not need spousal permission to do this.

Does a life insurance policy end because someone becomes incarcerated?

If a person who took out life insurance on him/herself becomes incarcerated, the policy does not terminate because of the incarceration itself. As long as premiums continue to be paid, the policy will remain in force. As a practical matter however, the incarcerated person may have no income or other source of funds with which to pay the premiums, unless someone else pays them for him/her. Alternatively, if the life insurance policy was whole life (rather than term insurance), any accumulated cash value could be applied to pay future accruing premiums until the cash value is exhausted. Once this happens, the policy will lapse for nonpayment of premium.
