sure can smart guy: First of all Bob Marley changed the cultural landscape like no one before or since. He introduced Reggae music and the plight of the third world to the doorsteps of the richest nations on earth and inspired generations of human beings to work toward peace, justice, equality and ultimately unity. Bob very specifically inspired the freedom fighters in Zimbabwe (formerly rhodesia) as well as many parts of colonized Africa to continue fighting which is why he is still the most respected man on the continent. On a personal level he took care of (financially) about four to eight thousand people out of his own pocket. His house at 56 hope road was baraged with people who needed everything from food to school uniforms for their children and they got it. In fact Bob Marley once gave away a million dollars in a weekend and thought nothing of it. On a spiritual level he introduced the Rastafarian belief system and lifestyle to a worldwide audience. Politically and socially he was the most important representative of the Pan-African ideology since Marcus Garvey and a tireless spokesman for human rights. Maybe that UN Peace Medal he received in 1978 on behalf of "500 million Africans" had something to do with that.
