The answer depends partly on the region of Florida, since its climate varies considerably from north to south. In north Florida, many flowering cherry varieties will likely be successful. They might not grow as vigorously as further north though. In central and south Florida most common flowering cherries will have a hard time. Some exceptions include black cherry (Prunus serotina) which is native to parts of the state. Also the Taiwan cherry (Prunus campanulata) will do well in most of Florida.
Yes i believe so. I've seen cherry blossoms being sold in Florida so i believe they can grow here.
