Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band opened for Chicago in Madison Square Garden in the summer of 1973. It is said that Springsteen never hired warm up acts based on the terrible way he and the band were treated. The house lights were never dimmed, and the band was never able to capture the audience's attention. I'm sure the producers of that event look back with some regret.
