" At Monterey, the party continued in between performances as Cass(Elliot) held court in the backstage tent, surrounded by her friends, most of whom were performing at some point or another. David Crosby was onstage introducing the Electric Flag, the psychedelic San Fransisco blues band on whose second album, A Long Time Comin', Cass had sung vocals earlier in the summer. She had become friends with guitarist Mike Bloomfield and bassist Harvey Brooks, whom she would work with later on, and she had also met The Who in London and struck up an intensefriendship with drummer Keith Moon. 'They were greattogether,' remembers Gary Burden, 'because it was all fun! He was completely nuts and it was all just...woo woo! She was the kind of person who some how had the ability to make Keith Moon stay cool, you know? I clearly remember them being very, very funny together!

'When ever Cass went to London, which was quite often,'continues Gary Burden,'or Keith Moon came to the states, they always met up, hung out and of course partied! They were perfect together, and I also remember them being very affectionate with each other. It was honestly fantastic seeing both Cass and Keith together, literally it was never a dull moment! You couldn't get enough of them together.' remembers Gary with great love."
