Whilst he was never a cowboy and never rode a horse nor made a cowboy movie, Slim is associated with western songs. Classics like "Cool water", "Tumbling Tumbleweeds", "Cattle Call", "Cowboy's Heaven", "There's A Love Knot In My Lariat" and "I'm casting My Lasso Towards The Sky" have all benefited from the Whitman treatment. Indeed, as at early 2010 he has recently completed an album of western songs. Maybe "There's A Bridle" is on that? I don't know the answer to that although I don't think so. We will have to wait for its release.
