According to interviews Tina has done with various magazines, she was angry that her mother (Zelma Bullock) had not been around during her childhood and seemed to take no interest in her at all. But many years later, she forgave her mother, and began to reconcile with her. She even helped take care of her mother when she became ill with cancer.
