Who was really going to miss you written for?

"Really Gonna Miss You" by Smokey Robinson was written about Melvin Franklin. Melvin aka "Blue" was one of the original members of "The Temptations" who died on February 23, 1995. He was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and used cortisone to ease the pain so he could continue performing. Because he used so much, he developed diabetes, and after a series of seizures, he fell into a coma and died. Smokey was the primary songwriter and producer for the Temptations from 1963 to 1966. After Franklin's death, he wrote this song for him, and sang it at his funeral.

Do you go through the smokey mountains traveling from nashville to Memphis?

No, if you went from Nashville to Memphis you would be going in the complete opposite direction from the Smokey mountains. Nashville is in the very middle section of the state of Tennessee. Going from Nashville to Memphis would take you a straight shot west. The Smokey mountains are nearly a straight shot east of Nashville. So from Nashville you would actually go toward Knoxville to get to the Smokey mountains. Eventually you would vear north just slightly.
