Avril Lavigne could either be classified as punk pock or pop rock depending on what song you talking about. If it's 'Girlfriend', then it's definitely punk rock; but if it's 'My World' then it's pop rock. Personally, I wouldn't classify Lavigne's songs as rock since there are many types of rock. Aerosmith is rock, but Avril doesn't sing his type of music.....
It was called "With The Beatles", which followed "Please Please Me" in 1963.

The Beatles virtually created the Pop gene. They inspire so many people to start their own bands and are known as the best rock and roll band in the history of rock and roll. So many famous bands with chart-topping songs were inspired by the one and the only: Beatles. More specifically, many inspiring Beatles songs include: Hey Jude, Yesterday, Help!, Revolution, Here Comes The Sun, and many many more.

Help! by the beatles defo
BLINK-182 BABY!!!! Their album "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" was the first EVER Rock album in history of Rock 'N' Roll and Punk music to go number one in the Billboard charts. Mark Hoppus said in an interview that blink-182 "perfected" pop punk around the 2000's. Remember the pop punk era was so huge back then all because of blink-182? Following other bands, Good Charlotte did the same as well. Their successful album "The Young And The Hopeless" with the songs "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous", "Girls & Boys" (My FAVOURITE <3) and "The Anthem". Other bands too like New Found Glory, Sum 41. Help bring back Pop Punk/Punk Rock. KEEP SUPPORTING PUNK NO MATTER WHAT! As long as it lives forever in your heart <3
