Yes.
The most likely reasons are the volume is turned down or the radio is not tuned to a station.
maybe the fuses have blown because that happened to my radio and you might have to buy a new radio.
If you turn up your interior dashboard light settings, then the radio display will be brighter too. The radio dims to the setting for the dashboard when the lights are turned on.
You look on the left side of the radio and there is a knob.. That is a volume control....Turn it to the left for lower volume and to the right for higher volume... LOL

Speed control volume. Gets louder the faster you go and quieter the slower you go
The owner's manual tells you how to lower the chime volume, it is changed through the radio. It's not possible to completely silence it. Addition: With the car turned on and the radio off press # 6 on your radio buttons and that will change it from normal to loud (even though the normal is loud as it is).
Intensity of sound is dealt as volume in case of radio sets. Intensity is directly proportional to the square of amplitude. So as volume is turned down, intensity is reduced and so the amplitude is decreased.
With the radio turned off, you press the SET key, then using the Volume and Tune buttons, you set the time. Once set, press the set button, and your done.
1) The fact that you turned the volume up.2) A change in the signal emitted by the radio station. 3) The conditions for listening improved; for some reason, there is less interference.

well i think you are talking about a e46, 99 model year or newer, do you not have volume in any mode? radio, or cd/cassette, if that is the case then you might have defective radio, no repair is made, you will have to replace it.
