yes
Typically, the 6 string guitar is tuned on the notes EADGBE. If you strum across those strings without touching the fretboard you would have a Em7sus chord. Building the chord, we have root (E) 3rd (G) 5th (B) 7th (D) and the added 4 (A) which is a suspension note. To make other chords, you learn the theory of how to make a chord and then use your fingers to press down and change the open strings to something else that fits the chord that you are trying to make. Get a guitar chord chart and use that but it would help you tremendously to learn the theory to understand why each chord is what it is.
Action refers to the height of the guitar strings from the fretboard. For High action the strings are farther away making it harder to press the strings down. Low action is the opposite.
No not really. It does NOT teach you at all to play the guitar in any way, real guitars have strings and you have to press down on different strings and strum on different strings, on guitar hero press buttons and flip switches, that's all No, I'm trying to learn how to play real guitar, and guitar hero is not helping me. No it doesn't help you at all if you wanna get faster at it play more often and if you don't know what a hammer on is look it up so don't waste your time trying No not at all. it is completely different from a guitar. No, not even nearly. a guitar hero controller is basically like pressing coloured buttons while moving a switch
press down on the neck between the metal parts until you touch the wood with one hand and hit the strings with the others.
If you mean "Chord Zed," the "Z chord" or "the scrub", the key is you don't press. Rest your fingers gently on the string to dampen the vibration. You don't want the strings to touch the frets at all.

well i have guitar pro 5, and it does that :)
You would press on the low E string, probably on the 1st fret.

Thicker strings vibrate slower than the thinner strings. of course it changes when you press down on fret.
No most definitely not. Notes aren't always just one fret away. And besides, there are SIX strings on a guitar. Not just one line of five buttons.

You'll have to be more specific... There are barre chords which use one finger to press multiple strings, like flattening your pointer finger across the fingerboard, and there are some where you simply take your ring or little finger and flatten it against the top few strings. In other cases you can use your thumb to press down the bottom string(s) if you have the dexterity, which would free some of the other fingers to play more complex chord shapes.
If you mean frets to press the strings against - like the ones on the fingerboard of a guitar - there are no frets on a violin.
press down on the neck between the metal parts until you touch the wood with one hand and hit the strings with the others.
press down on the strings very hard until you get a different sound than say hitting the strings with one hand on the guitar. That is called fretting a note. there are pictures on the neck of the guitar to help you , on a dot inlay guitar they represent 3, 5 ,7, 9. 12 ...ect. Learn guitar tabliture and a few scales and you'll be able to take over the world.
It seems you are not pressing on the strings hard enough to change their pitch.
