Yes i do. I think it is a nice change for greenday- as it is faster than most of their songs I also like the fact that it was not overplayed when it first came out. On the other hand, the lyrics aren't as good as those from others. Yes, i love its beat and well actually the lyrics even though there like a little strange

Billie-Joe Armstrong of Green Day has been quoted saying that once America had turned into a big corporate wonderland of sell-outs, slimeballs, and people who cared nothing about anybody else but themselves and their buisness. He didn't want to be a part of the so-called "American Dream" anymore. In the song "American Idiot", the line "Don't want to be an American idiot" refers to the fact that he doesn't want to be thought of as an American slob just because he lives in the country.

∙ 13y agoPossibly, but that Is something you would have to ask the band members personally. Many bands may seem to have no morals or patriotism, but are really decent people who are as various as from me to you. You cant define someones morals or lifestyle on how the public sees them or what group they belong to. Now based on there song idiot America it is possible this may be true but unlikely, it seems to me that they dislike the way Americans are "controlled by the media" and blinded. It is also likely that they just dislike the way America is being Operated. (improved answer over the unintelligent stereotype answer last given i also decided to add a smiley face to counteract the last answer. ) :)
