Planet Rock is a track from hip hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force.
You can look the video up on YouTube. Bambaataa was a true inovater of his time, and he also brought the four elements of hip hop together, including: DJ's, MC's, B-Boys {or breakdancers} and grafitti. In the last few years, I've heard Bambaataa sampled on different records, like the song, "Looking for the Perfect Beat," which Missy Elliot sampled. It's funny because the melody that Bambaataa used for that song, he sampled it from an old German trance group from the 70s called Kraftwerk, in fact, you can hear alot of Kraftwerk material here and there in Afrika Bambaataa's music.
So there, that's alot more info than you needed on that. But to be sure, it wasn't Lil Wayne. It was Afrika Bambaataa, from the early 80s.

Will is mistaken about only one thing. Everything he says about Afrika Bambaataa is true, HOWEVER, Lil Wayne did do a cover of "Planet Rock". Its my favorite song... is called "Pump that bass".
