He uses Ableton Live to sequence and piece his songs together. He also uses FL Studio and uses Dre Beats Studio and Sony MDXR10's to hear them with top quality sound. He uses VST plugins in Ableton/FL Studio to get his synthesizers and glitched out effects. Native Instruments Massive VST is an industry standard for synthesizers and Refx Nexus is gaining popularity with DJ's such as Skrillex and David Guetta using them. He is also known to use the DBlue Glitch VST for the dubstep glides and stutters.

Hey! I know for sure that Madeon uses Poizone for his leads. Its a Fl studio plugin, But its able for mac too. But you can make madeon leads out of any synth that has formants. In massive you can switch from spectrum to formant, and automate it with the LFO.

It's pretty much limitless. I recommend Native Instruments Massive for basses and stuff. The main program you use depends on your preference. I use fl studio 10. But you could also use Reason or Ableton Live.

FL Studio is not just a sound application it is a fully functional, music composition, sequencing digital audio workstation. It is also probably the easiest one to use that has versatility of such a magnitude that pro dubstep performers and artists use it more than Ableton Live, which is said to be the best application for audio mastering. If you want ease of use, you can not go past FL Studio. As for a better application, they won't be as easy to use. If you want a quick fix and a fast buck in an industry that you know little about, then you need to find another hobby as music is not in your heart, only in your ears.
