Silent Night, Holy Night. is sometimes claimed to be originally a Tyrolean, hence Austrian folk song. a somewhat inaccurate article in the Reader"s digest linked the song to some choristers making the rounds of the Austrian Capital ( not in Middie Blouses) in the age of Maria Theresa. This is somewhat inaccurate, the song did not come out until the nineteenth century- by German authors, and Franz Gruber and Joseph Mohr are usually given the credit.
