He was signed to RCA Victor from 1936 to about 1981. So his first releases were in 1936 although it was 1949 before he had his first showing in the US country charts with "Wedding Vows" which got to number 10. The following year (1950) he had two number ones:"Moving On" & "The Golden Rocket"

Hank wrote most of his own stuff, while Fred Rose may have helped write, or co-written some of the songs, his role along with Roy Acuff was a publisher of Hank Williams material.
There were actually several songs that were found in the Cadillac that Hank Williams Sr. died in. He had a large number of songs that were written and never recorded, and some of them were recorded on an album called The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams.
