Firstly, you need a media player. If you have Windows, Windows Media Player should do the job nicely; simply double click the file in your folder. Alternatively, you can right click, and select "Play in Media Player". Or, if you do not have Windows Media Player, or do not wish to use it, I can suggest a media player, named "Billy", from the site . It is an excellent media player, and plays .mp3 files, along with other types.
There are a surprisingly large number of media players available for MS-DOS.
MPXPLAY - Probably the most popular among remaining DOS users. Can be keyboard, mouse, or even LCD driven. Supports MP3, OGG, WMA, and WAV.
MPR - A tiny MP3 player. May not run right on non-Microsoft implementations of DOS.
DOSAMP - The precursor to WinAMP. As far as I know, it only plays MP3 files. Runs on very low-end hardware, but often has some kind of audio distortion at the very beginning.
MPLAYER - I haven't tried it on DOS yet, but this is a port of MPLAYER, a popular media player on Linux and Windows, to MS-DOS. May be quite buggy, but supports videos as well!
