You don't amplify it by shoving a can on the end of it like a mute; you either just play louder, play into a microphone, or play into something that echoes sound (ex: bell of a larger instrument).

you blow and make a buzzing sound into the mouth piece. then try it when the mouth piece is in the Trumpet.
