Its VERY hard but i suggest putting a video of you on YouTube,facebook ect.

If someone hasn't already mentioned this, if you wouldn't dance or sing for free (and wouldn't mind being an unpaid performer for many years), you won't last long in a cruel business if your main goal is fame. You need to love it and believe there is no other path for you. There will always be someone more talented, more beautiful, better connected, etc., so to gain a competitive edge, get as much training in both (classically trained singers may have more options avail. to them since it trains your voice to sing just about any genre, but any training is better than none). Get as much exposure as possible - busk on the sidewalk, summer stock, post performance videos (if good), network with other performers. Most performers spend years auditioning to build a reputation. Eventually, if you're lucky enough and good enough, someone might give you a break. Don't count on discovery...the odds are billions to one & the years spent training help prepare you for the hard work it takes to make it as a performer.
