Are you referring to the passenger side airbag or driver's?
In 1993, neither could be deactivated without disabling the entire system. The only way to disable the entire system is to disconnect the battery and let the capacitators discharge for 10 minutes, pull the fuses, and you're airbags are disabled.

If you do this and you are involved in an accident, your airbag will not deploy. It is not recommended to diable this system.

∙ 12y agoThe light is on because the computer has detected a malfunction and set a code. The cause of the code will have to be repaired before the light will go off.
You will need to have the system checked for codes with an OBD2 scanner.

∙ 15y agoThere is a plastic plug on the to of horn/air bag,remove plug and use an 8mm socket to turn the bolt out until it stops. This disarms the air bag. Turn the bolt back in to re-arm the air bag.
