I have the same question.
The value of a Kimball 1910 patented 1895 upright piano with serial number 222871 can vary significantly based on its condition, historical significance, and market demand. Generally, such pianos can range from a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars. Factors like restoration, brand reputation, and unique features also play a key role in determining its final worth. For a precise valuation, consulting a piano appraiser or checking recent sales of similar models is advisable.
Thats a rare find I have appraised pianos for 54 years now. Depending on the shape and the buyer,a gem like this should fetch somewhere around 140,000 - 160,000.
Kimball stopped manufacturing pianos in 1996 after nearly 140 years. The company continues as a furniture manufacturer, so you could try contacting them with your query. www.kimball.com
According to my Pierce piano atlas, 12th edition, on page 202, it tells me that your piano, serial number 36064, was made in 1895. I will list two years and the serial number of the first piano made in each year. 1895-------35000 1896-------51000 So that would tell us that 16,000 pianos were made in 1895, or about 1,333 each month. Assuming that they produced the same amount of pianos each month, that would put serial number 36064 made in January of 1895. Les erosinspirit@hotmail.com
In 1890, Kimball was still using 4-digit serial numbers (starting with 3200). By 1895, however, the company had jumped to 35000. Considering this, a model with serial number 28527 would have been built at some point during this fiver year time frame, most likey in 1893-94.
The age of a Kimball piano with the serial number 36415 is 119 years old. The serial number indicates it was manufactured in 1895.
