A guy called Cliff Fabri became Avrils Manager after hearing her sing in a guy called Steve Medds albums Avril sent out a load of tapes of her singing live and in her basement to record companies and Fabri made sure they got viewed. A lot of people were intrested but Avril rejeted loads of companys because they wanted to make her a Britney clone. She got a meeting with Alex Reid. She sang for him and he signed her up. She nearly got dropped because she didnt like writers he wanted her to write with but then she found a team she could work with (The Matrix) and a few others. Then her album got made. Her song-Complicated got lots of airplay because she was with a big record company so they could get it played
