How did Black Veil Brides form?

Andy personally gave me this answer two days ago when it was asked after a show. Andy attended a catholic school during his teen years, and his grandmother was very religious. He is extremely close to her hence the rosary he wears. Anyway, in catholic religion, when a woman gives up all her pleasures in life to be a nun, she is known as a black veil bride. Meaning that she can no longer enjoy simple 'sinful' pleasures as she has given herself to God. He thought it would be a creative name for a rock/alternative band because the meaning of a black veil bride contradicts itself with the habits of a young rock/alternative band. =]

Andy got the idea when he found out about catholic nuns giving up their lives to god and marrying the church in black veils. Andy has said that although he is not catholic or religious, he respects the religion and what it stands for. Hope this helped :)

Andy grew up in a strong Roman Catholic family. Even though he didn't partake in the religious aspect of it. He liked the idea of when a nun marries into the church, giving up all the cardinal pleasures of life, and giving up everything for something that you love. Andy says he got the name because when the nun does marry she has to wear a black veil and is called a black veil bride.Andy chose the name because he has given up everything to be in this Rock 'n' Roll band, and Rock 'n' Roll is all about the cardinal pleasures of life.

Andy Biersack had the concept for the band when he was 14 years old. he was originally going to call the band "Biersack", but changed it to Black Veil Brides. Andy is the only remaining member from the original lineup.

Andy Six (Andy Biersack) had a band called "the Biersacks" and he stoped with that band after going to Hollywood and had the old members of the band come in. (Andy is the only person who is orignial in the band left.)

At first, It was just Andy. He was pushed around alot when he was young. he was bullied, hit, pushed, he was called EMO, and the c word. Nobody really liked him. But when he got into middle school, he met Ashley. Ashley was popular, so instead of being called EMO, and the c word, Andy was treated with respect. When they all got to high school, Jinx, Christian, and Jake were already VERY best of friends. So they all got together.
