Definetly! Bob Marley even went to tanning salons to get darker!
He is the founder of the black Caribbean.
Bob Marley's skin was different, true and dark from the tanning from such a hard working and dedicated man..that's why his skin has stood the test of time and continues to be black as each day comes!
Negro Bob Marley Forever!
IMPROVEMENT: Robert Nesta Marley was the son of a British white military father (Norval Sinclair Marley) and Jamaican black mother (Cedella Malcolm) . "Bob" - an Aquarius - spend his life trying to teach people that race and religion and other sorts of social stratification were foolish. Pretty sure most of the fools that read this/answer this stuff only care about his dreads and weed though.

By the way, there's a spell check....use it, please.
The press started referring to Bob Marley as the "King of Reggae" in and around 1975, specifically after his triumphant UK tour. Some people take issue with the term specifically as it relates to reggae singer Dennis Brown (the Crown Prince) because for many years Brown was the most popular vocalist in Jamaica even while Bob was alive. However Marley is the undisputed international ambassador of Reggae music and his reputation internationally was more prominent than ANY other reggae artist including Dennis Brown. In Jamaica Bob had become a folk hero and his significance was beyond that of just a vocalist. Ultimately whichever reggae artist you like the best is a matter of taste. But in terms of album sales, chart success, concert tickets sold, press coverage, global influence and reverence, and outright adoration and respect, Bob Marley was then and is now the most important, successful and widely known artist that EVER emerged from Jamaica. King is just a term but I think I have made the argument that it is a fitting one to say the least.
Bob Marley made the style of reggae popular, and without him reggae and most other Caribbean styles wouldn't have existed. Essentially, Bob Marley impacted Caribbean music and reggae by creating more of a public notice to it.
Bob Marley the Revolutionary Leader.

To say that Bob Marley is the greatest reggae artist ever produced by Jamaica is a widely debated statement even among admirers of Bob Marley, however no one dares deny the fact that without Rastafari there is no Bob Marley. The dreadlocks and the philosophy are all due to the overwhelming and life changing philosophy of Rastafari.
Read this one, James.
A barber gave a haircut to a priest one day. The priest tried to pay for the haircut, but the barber refused, saying, "you do God's work." The next morning, the barber found a dozen bibles at the door to his shop.
A policeman came to the barber for a haircut, and the barber refused payment, saying, " you protect the public." The next morning, the barber found a dozen doughnuts at the door to his shop.
A lawyer came to the barber for a haircut, and again the barber refused payment, saying, "you serve the justice system." The next morning, the barber found a dozen lawyers waiting for a free haircut.
