Well, Mark Hall wrote the song; he is a full-time youth pastor as well. Mark calls 'Does Anybody Hear Her' The Girl Song. He was inspired to write it because he sees that the song depicts where so many live.

They are all around us. To become numb to their pain is to become numb to the very heart of God and the suffering of His only Son.

Romans 10:14 / Acts 5:20 / 1 Peter 3:15

Matthew 28:19-20 / 2 Corinthians 5:20

"Adults live there, too, if we're being honest. We crave approval regardless of age. We adults separate ourselves from teenagers, thinking they are so different. The only differences of note are the level of influence and responsibilities. But we're still basically like we were as teenagers: We want to be accepted; we want to be treated well; we want to be respected and even liked. When we're not, it hurts. When we're left out, it hurts. When we're bullied, it hurts. We all feel the same emotions. So teenagers aren't aliens or robots. They're just younger, more immature versions of us.

I needed almost a decade to write this song. You may recall that it is something of an offshoot of one of the songs on our first CD.I realized that the meaty second verse of What If His People Prayed? was really its own song -- that one simple paragraph was an injustice to the girl I was seeing far too frequently in far too many places. I had to let the story play out in my head for a while. Unfortunately, as a youth pastor I've had more case studies than i have ever wanted."
