David made it through the huge stadium audition in San Diego. Those who made it past that got to audition in front of the judges, and David made it through those eliminations. Then he appeared on the American Idol show for the entire length of the show because he made it to the final Top 2. In the US alone, 30 million people saw David Archuleta every week. And Idol is also broadcast delayed or live in 100 other countries. And David continues to be noticed by more people who may not have watched the show.
