Joey Ramone died of cancer (lymphoma), in 2001. I heard he tripped on some ice and fell, and was taken to the hospital, where he took a turn for the worse and died, but I'm not sure if that part's true, I just heard from a friend.

Dee Dee Ramone died of a drug overdose soon after (2002), and Joey Ramone died of prostate cancer soon after that (2004). The only original Ramone still alive is Tommy Ramone.
