How did mike posner become famous?

Well he started making music in his basement with Big sean and some others. In the beginning he only made the beats and sold em' to some rappers. Later on, he decided to rap on his own tracks and eventually he moved on to singing instead of rapping.

Later on when he went to college, he continued to make his music in his dorm room, recorded it and put it on his YouTube channel called MikePosner. I think that's what made him famous and you can see him create some nice stuff there, like making the cover of Beyonce's Halo, Soulja Boy's Kiss Me Through The Phone, and his own Drug Dealer Girl, Kanye West's Heartless and much more!

Jay-Z wanted to sign him first but Mike decided to skip that because he wanted to finish college.

He got signed to J-Records and his first hit was Cooler Than Me which became a club banger!
