Well, this question is a quite an interesting one. The eldest of the brothers, Fayard Nicholas had not received training for his parents, Viola and Ulyssess, were vaudeville performers. Since the age of three, he had been fascinated by their moves and moved on to repeat their moves and add his own style of dance. In simplest terms, he taught himself to dance. When Harold, the youngest of the two came of age, he followed his brothers steps then incorporated his own style into it. Together they became the Nicholas brothers. The only training or practice they have had is from their parents and they followed names such as Duke Ellington, Fred Astaire, and so on.
