First, you need tools:
1. Flat blade screwdriver or butter knife
2. Phillips screwdriver (#2)

Second, you leave key out of ignition and everything OFF

Then, you take the screwdriver or butter knife and carefully pry away the plastic ring that surrounds the radio and heater/AC controls. There are 6 (six) clips under the ring, two on each side and one on top and another on the bottom. Once you have the ring off, you can see that there are 8 (eight) screws holding the radio and heater/AC controls in place. You have to remove all of them in order to take out the radio.

Once you have all 8 (eight) screws removed you can carefully pull both the radio and heater/AC controls out. On the back of the radio are three connections, the one on your left is removed by squeezing the top and bottom of the connector and slowly pulling on the connector until it comes out. The next connector is smaller and is removed in the same manner. The last connector is for the radio antenna and comes out by pulling it.

Now you have the radio out and removed!!

You can then install a new radio if you have all the adapters and wiring harness adapters and wiring diagrams. ... or you can put the radio back in.

I pulled my radio out to add a Sirius Satellite Radio to the factory system.

First if it is a CD deck you want to get a wiring kit and then wire nuts and a dash fitting so it sits perfect.

How to unlock radio on 1999 S10 Chevy pickup when in lock mode?

I had to go to a dealership to get the radio unlocked, also the cause; ( radio locked) was Battery Failure. After I puchased a new battery I found the radio use to be locked.

You had to buy a new radio for your 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo you installed the radio and now it says it's locked It came from a 2001 Impala Help?

Newer radios are programmed with the VIN of the car they are in. If you have to replace the radio with a factory radio, you have to take it to your local dealer, and have them reprogram it. They might require you to show proof that the new radio is bought, and not stolen thou. But the new radio has to be unlocked thru the OBD2 port thru a GM scanner.

You have a Honda civic 1997 ex 2 door and it came with a after market CD player you want to take that one out and put a better one in how would you go about doing that?

take the old one out noting if it has a wiring harness from the auto wiring to mate to the radio harness ie male/female connectors, if so cut the harness from the old radio and splice to the new radio soldering or electrical tape connections following the color coded diagram that comes with the new radio. If the harness is not already there buy a new one for make/model of auto and install. Plug in harnesses to each other and install new radio after connecting the antennae.
