Hello,
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my request.

To give you a little background, I am a member of the Roughrider Commission, a non-profit volunteer organization in Dickinson, North Dakota. Our main function is to organize a fourth of July celebration. Over the years, we became aware of the large number of people and families in Dickinson and southwest North Dakota that were dealing with cancer and other illnesses and were needing to be traveling to a larger community 100 miles away for medical treatment. These treatments sometimes extend to long periods of time creating a financial burden for the patient or their family.

Because of this, the Roughrider Commission formed the Cabin Fever Benefit Committee. This committee's sole function is to organize the annual Cabin Fever Benefit, a fund raiser for the Ronald McDonald House in Bismarck, North Dakota. In doing so, we are able to raise funds to help offset the expenses a family may incur while staying at the Ronald McDonald House during an illness. We started this event 15 years ago and we are very proud of our success. We hold the event the second Saturday in February. We chose the name to coincide with the date as by then in North Dakota, we have a bad case of "cabin fever" and we felt it would give people an opportunity to get out for an evening of food, fun and fellowship while raising money for a very good cause.

The event consists of a silent auction, beef BBQ supper, live auction, dance, raffle and midnight breakfast. All proceeds go to help the Ronald McDonald house by supplying them with items on their "wish list", helping with needed remodeling to the house itself, purchasing appliances and covering the costs for people from southwest North Dakota to stay at the house. We have over the recent years expanded our coverage area and also now cover costs for people from southwest North Dakota that may need to travel as far as Rochester, Minnesota and stay at a Ronald McDonald House.

I am sorry to ramble on, but I felt it was necessary to give you a little background on us and our event to better justify my request. As mentioned above, a big part of the fund raising during the event comes from the silent and live auctions. We have been very fortunate to receive numerous items for the auctions from very generous merchants in Dickinson and southwest North Dakota but we are always looking for new items that may bring heightened interest to the auctions. Since Trace is scheduled to be in Bismarck, ND for a concert this coming April, I would like to request a donation of an autographed auction item for our February 13, 2010 Cabin Fever Benefit. Given the numerous fans Trace has, and possibly does not even know about in Dickinson and southwest North Dakota, I feel an autographed item would be a huge hit at our auction.

I do understand that celebrities such as Trace must get requests daily for donated items and I respect the fact that not every request can be met. But of course, I would hope that you would take a look at our request as well as the benefit of the event and strongly consider a donation. We would graciously accept anything that you may feel you can contribute.

Again, thank you for taking the time to read through my e-mail request. I do not want to take up any more of your time, but if you have questions or would like more information from me, please feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to help however I can. If this request needs to go to another person, I would ask that you forward it on to them, or let me know where I should re-direct our request.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
