In Phoenix, for example, KFYI is an AM station which broadcasts news and conservative talk; like many stations with this format, it has a very loyal audience and is very popular with older listeners. And similarly, KHOT-FM is a station that broadcasts Spanish-language music and news especially for Mexican-Americans; it too has a loyal audience of people who tune in specifically for the kind of programming it provides.
