Usually, you can add music from iTunes to iPod easily. But from iPod to iTunes, which it is not so easy. i think you need some other software to help.

I'm afraid that once the song is on the iPod, it stays on the ipod. This was made this way so that if one friend buys a song, he cannot download it to his ipod and bring it to his friend to upload it to his itunes so his friend can get a free song. You cannot upload ipod music to a mac.

Try using handbreak to convert them to mp4s then drag the mp4s into itunes if on mac not sure about windows but it is very simular try the apple help page hope this helps
