There are 3 rules you have to follow to be a singer. firstly you have to have a good voice, by good i mean clear and loud. Secondly, You have to perform in crowds from 5 and up. Lastly, you have to trust yourself, if you believe you are good then you will be

Trying to be a singer is quite easy if you follow this. Practice each day so you can hold longer notes and expand your voice more to make your voice clear. Don't be afraid of what people might think, its OK to be whatever you want. Sing in front of your friends and family to get their opinion and their improvements for you. Start auditioning for song locally or if you think you can't do any more improvement try and record your voice onto a CD and sent it to an address (find out on the computer) the name of the place and give a brief explanation on why you want to be a singer if that is necessary. If you get a letter from the company/place saying your excepted or they want to hear you perform, take advantage of this opportunity and do it sooner rather than later. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Don't spoil it because it might be your last chance.

First of all you have to have the talent, believe in yourself, and be willing to put yourself in the public eye to show that talent. You start out playing any place you can to be seen and heard. You won't get paid, probably, but you will make fans who will help you get where you want to be. Sing at local talent shows, fairs, clubs, high school dances, anywhere and everywhere that gets you out in front of people. Sing your heart out, give it all you got no matter if there are 5 people in the audience or 500 because even if you do not have the perfect voice, if people like you, and you enjoy what you do, you will pick up more and more experience and people who will follow you all the way to the top. Also, one of those 5 people out there could be a talent scout looking for someone just like you to turn into the next big thing. Also, you learn who to contact. You get yourself in contact with public relations people, DJ's, maybe someone from your home town has become famous, if you can, contact that person and get all the advice they can give you. Get familiar with the concerts or acts that are coming to your town and try to become an "opening act" for someone; maybe not someone really famous, but someone whose name is pretty well known in your area. For example, if the type of music you do is country, and someone who used to be famous is going to be playing at your local fair, contact their PR people and find out if you might could play as their opening act. Another thing you can do is get your family, friends, school mates, fellow workers, and everyone else you know to generate some excitement about your music, if you play at a fair, have as many people as possible call the local radio station to ask about your band, or have them send e-mails, call, or write to magazines asking who this new band is, where they are from, and have them to do this, at least, once a week for as long as it takes to call attention to you. Make a demo if you have the money and don't stop trying til you find someone in the music industry to listen to it no matter what it takes or how long it takes. It won't be easy and it won't happen over night, but if you have the talent and the will to keep believing in your talent, you can get to the top. I hope I have helped you.
