How do you become goth?

Well first it is a stereo type that Gothic people cut them self (that is emo people), no they do not worship Satan, and gothic people are very out going but do act strange in they're own mysterious manner. To begin i do advise that you get a piercing but not one that is hidden because emo's have hidden piercing tongue, bellybutton ect. Today i took a stapler and took the meddle part and bet the staple thing and mde it into a half moon and poked one edge of the stapler thing into my skin and let the other side dangle in my mouth. (btw. it did not hurt and no i did not intensely stab it into my skin, it was mopre of a gentle poke. U might have to poke it back in every hour if u poke it in gentle and my parents are extremly strict but if u dnt want to risk the chances with ur parents take it out when ur about to see ur parents and again it did not hurt). Gothic people enjoy to wear dark colors like Dark blue, Black, Grey, purple No pinks light blue, yellow, orange, ect. Well hope you enjoyed and happy be gothifying lol

People become very depressed and upset with their lifes. Maybe because of a big breakup or a fight with parents. They are very dark and alone and take the earth as a fantasy dark place. Truly, I believe its very sad and they need to get over it!!!

Being Gothic is having an appreciation for the darker side of life, the mystical things in the world, it has absolutely nothing to do with depression whatsoever. That is a stereotype and a lie. Or perhaps you are unaware that Gothic and Emo are two different subcultures?

Basiclly get all the stuff you need you obviouslly the look happening aka you hair you makeup cloths but it just isn't about the look there is music personality and no you don't always feel so dark inside that is a bunch of jumbo and yes you will be called goth but that is part you need to learn to handle if you are wanting to turn goth i couldn't handle all the labels so i am no longer goth but you make sure you standout from everyone

Listen to Goth Rock or a Sub-Genre of it. This doesn't mean cut yourself, write poetry (although you may), contemplate excessively, speak like your from the 1400's, be sad, live in a cave, shun light, hate people, or commit suicide. Oh, and Manson, Slipknot, MCR, Evanescence and the like aren't Goth, but Goths can still like them. You just need to primarily like Goth Rock.

enjoy dark things, Love Gothic music (for me its suicide rock) some goths also like POP and HIP-HOP etc.............................................................................................

k... just to let you know there is a HUGE difference between emo and goth. there is also scene and cutters.

-emo: mostly just skinny jeans, dark clothing, sad, and you dont cut yourself.

-goth: you dont necessarily worship the devil you just kinda look dark and hate the world and all who inhabit it.

-Scene: a lot more colorful, and that's where the emo/scene hairstyles came from. they are very animated looking and may or may not cut.

and just to let you know you dont just become emo something seriously messed up has to have happened or go on in your life to make you seriously depressed other than that you are a poser.
