If you do not love him anymore, then break up with him. If you don't, you will have to live with a guy you don't love for the rest of your life. If it's because he is doing something you are getting upset about, tell him and give him a chance to change it, and if he still does it, give him one more chance and tell him to please stop it because you don't like it. If he doesn't listen, then break up with him, and you can't feel bad about it. You can't control his actions, so if he's inclined to lay a guilt trip on you, there's little you can do about it. Feeling guilty about breaking up with someone is not a good reason to stay with someone (although there are worse reasons). So, even if you know yourself well enough to know that you will feel bad about being the one to initiate the breakup, you must do it anyway. Trying to engineer a way to have him break up with you is as duplicitous as it is cowardly.
