The same way for any brass instrument--lower (pull out) the tuning slides
The tuba has the lowest tone/pitch. It is actually a pretty cool instrument, I play it in concert band!!
An euphonium is overall a small tuba...but there are other differences too! -an euphonium has four valves while a tuba can have three of them. -tuba's can be close to 50 pounds! while an euphonium is lighter. -though both a tuba and an euphonium are bass instruments, tuba are the main bass that can most likely go lower than a euphonium
The Tuba
A tuba is a low pitched instrument. It uses the bass clef also.
The tuba's actuator refers to the valve system that controls the flow of air through the instrument. Typically, this system consists of three to six valves that the player presses to change the pitch by altering the length of the tubing. When a valve is activated, it reroutes the air, allowing the musician to play different notes. Essentially, the actuator enables the tuba to produce a wide range of sounds and pitches.

To change the pitch on a cornet, players adjust the pitch by using valves, which redirect air through different tubing lengths, effectively altering the instrument's pitch. Additionally, the player can vary pitch by adjusting lip tension and airflow. On a tuba, pitch is similarly altered using valves to change the tubing length, while the player's embouchure and air support also play crucial roles in achieving accurate pitches. Both instruments require practice to master pitch control effectively.

Trumpet, by two octaves
A trumpet has a higher tone than a tuba because it has less length of tubing.
A euphonium is similar to a tuba, as both are brass instruments that belong to the same family and share a similar sound quality. They both have a conical shape and utilize valves to change pitch, although the euphonium is typically smaller and has a more mellow tone. Additionally, the sousaphone, often used in marching bands, is another instrument akin to the tuba, designed for portability while maintaining the tuba's distinctive sound.
