at the back of the hood, base of the windshield there is a black plastic piece that your wiper arms are coming out off. remove the wiper arms and the black cowl and you will see the wiper motor off the the driver side and you can figure it out from there.Good luck
I changed the wiper motor in my 95 JGC. remove the vent near the windshield on the exterior of the Jeep... you will have to open the hood. remove weather stripping and about 5 screws to remove the plastic vent, and the wipers. the wiper motor is located on the drivers side near the windshield below the vent. a couple bolts to take out, pull the wiper motor out of the rotating arms, unplug, and replace.
I have a 2000 Durango, probably the same as your 2002. On the outside of the blade, right at the pivot point/where it attaches to the arm there is a clip that blends very well with the rest of the mechanism. With a small screwdriver, or finger nail flip the clip up and the blade will come off. I got my replacement at a Auto Zone Parts Store, and you need to flip this clip up on the new one, slide the blade in place and lock the clip into position.
just a suggestion before you replace the motor ;the motor is located on the drivers side firewall ,close to the top. it has a panel with 3 or 4 screws holding it in place, after removing it, you will see a circuit board, gently pull it out and have it checked,: i have a 93 silverado3500 and went to a junk yard and got a circuit board out of a truck not the same year or model but the same style motor and it works perfectly, the new circuit board is really expensive. just a sugestion and hope it works for you. jerry

You must first remove the wiper arms. then, remove the screws holding the black plastic grill under the wiper arms. This will expose the motor. You will then need to disconnect the wiper arm transmission linkage from the motor, the remove the three bolts holding the motor on. Install in reverse order.
Remove the wiring harness from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper arm linkage. Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new wiper motor.
