She was addicted to drugs, which some can consider a mental illness, there are plenty of drug addicts in the mental hospitals. Miss Joplin, sadly, had no religious background of any kind, and there were no religious trappings, even crosses at her funeral. She may have been bisexual as well.A bit more:While drug addiction is a disease, it is not typically considered a "mental illness". As for her not having a "religious background of any kind", that is not a mental illness, it's a lifestyle choice; it comes under our American freedoms - freedom of religion (or lack thereof). And, while I am a Christian, I can still honestly say that if not being "religious" were a form of mental illness, there wouldn't be enough mental hospitals in the world to treat everyone who doesn't believe in God. As for there being "no religious trappings, even crosses at her funeral" - what? And, while there is no proof "she may have been bisexual", even if she had been bisexual, that is not a mental illness, either.
Her mental disabillity of not being able to get over it.
The keys to interventions are establishing goals, setting limits, and being forceful. An intervention is very difficult for all parties but it puts the greatest strain on the person who must decide to make the changes.
death and illness but if your lucky you survive the sting.
Disalike: Depression is a mental, physical, psychological health condition, often related to tramautic or stressful life-changes for an individual. Typically these changes are unwanted, and the person has difficulty developing coping mechanisms. Disillusionment is a state of mind, that does not necessarily affect one's immune system in the way that depression does. A person who is disillusioned may be perfectly healthy in other ways. Disllusionment is not the cause of depression. A person with depression may actually have an accurate mental interpretation of the things he/she relates to being depressed about. It is often said that depressed are negative in their thinking, and while this may be true, this does not garner whether or not they are accurate or disillusioned. Likewise, a positive person may be dissillusioned, and their disillusionment may be what keeps them happy! It is possible to be happy and dissilusioned, and it is also possible to be depressed and be dissillusioned. Yet it is also possible to be happy and be accurate, and it is also possible to be depressed an accurate. Alike: Both deal with mental processes, and the persons ability to cope with their mental process. Although depression is not only neurological, it is also physical. Whereas dissilusionment is purely mental. The similarilties pretty much end there. With both of them being neurological, brain activities. Keep in mind however that it is possible for people to be both depressed and dissillusioned, or accurate and depressed, or dissilusioned but not depressed. They are not necessarily inter-related.
Mental illness is defined as being unpredictable or erratic. A person which suffers from mental illness usually displays this when asked to answer a question or concentrate on something specific. This person would not be able to do this. Uncle Nate

It depends on the family history and the type of mental illness that you are talking about. Some kinds of mental illness do run in the family and others happen on their own.
People with mental illness are just as susceptible to medical illness as any other human being. Causing the death of another human being, (if you are speaking of murder) does not, obviously, cause a person to get Alzheimer's.)
Can mental illness be curable? I would say yes. I believe in the environment being the main role in how a person is. All persons have eccentric or idiosyncratic things about them, but not everyone is labeled. I do think that "all roads lead to Rome." Just because there are or were problems in one's life, each moment brings you forward to the future. I believe each person has more potential than what you see. I don't like labeling persons with such and such an illness.
Even though not everyone with a mental illness gets better, many people with mental illnesses are able to lead functioning, happy lives. It depends on the severity of the person's disorder, the support the person has, the treatment being utilized, and the person's individual characteristics.
