Well unfotunately these are one of the circumstances where rebuilding the entire transmission would be more profitable, and if for some reason only reverse were fixed, other gears may have been damaged by the debri from the reverse clutch pack..sorry for the bad news.. DAve

∙ 17y agoTypically, if the vehicle has a problem in reverse, it might also have a problem or will develop a problem in the forward gears. The best thing to do is STOP driving the vehicle and take it to your nearest transmission repair shop for further diagnostics. It may be best to have the shop remove and inspect the transmission for the cause of failure. Most shops do this for a reasonable fee..
